Meet Our Administrators
Nick Covault (Program Director)
Nick is an alumnus of GSA’s 2002 Vocal Music program. He holds a BM in Vocal Music Performance and a BA in Arts Administration from the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining GSA as Director, he was the Programming & Community Engagement Manager for The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.
Nick currently serves on the Steering Committee for the Kentucky Rural-Urban Exchange. His professional journey has included participation in the SouthArts Dance Touring Initiative, the Emerging Leader Institute of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, and the Global Fellowship Program of the International Society for the Performing Arts. He was listed as one of Business First of Louisville’s 2016 Forty Under 40 Honorees, and has been named a Compassion Laureate by Compassionate Louisville.
Erin Quinlan (Program Manager)
Erin is an arts manager, shape-shifter, and wannabe chef. A 2006 GSA dance alumna, Erin returns to GSA after completing her MA in Arts Management from American University with distinction. There, she focused on how to enhance adaptive arts leadership skills through experience with the National Parent Teacher Association, Association of Performing Arts Presenters, and as the Executive Chair of the Emerging Arts Leaders Symposium. Erin has been choreographer and dancer with Moving Collective and Vandivier-Ford Dance Company and is learning to play the cello.
Morgan Eklund (Program Coordinator)
Morgan in arts administrator and poet. She joined the GSA team in 2013 and serves as the main contact for GSA alumni. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a B.A. in English and Nonprofit Administration in 2011 and is also a 2006 GSA alumna in Creative Writing. Her poetry has appeared in the North American Review, The Louisville Review, ABZ, Whiskey Island, Anima, Kudzu and Prick the Spindle. Previous awards and nominations include: Sarabande Books’ Flo Gault Poetry Prize winner, Kentucky Arts Council's Emerging Artist Award recipient, James Hearst Poetry Prize finalist and 2017 Pushcart Prize nominee. Morgan is currently pursuing an MFA in Writing at Spalding University.
Tess Payton (Program Registrar)
Tess is a visual artist specializing in glassmaking, metal work and sculpture. She holds a BA in Humanities (Art History & Literature) and a BFA in 3D Studies from the University of Louisville. She is a former Hite Scholar, advanced glass mentor and former member of the UofL student co-operative gallery The OZ. Her individual work has been exhibited throughout the city of Louisville. Most recently, she worked as a collaborator on a permanent installation featured in Delta Terminal C’s Wibar in LaGuardia aiport. In addition to her work with GSA, she currently runs Evil Laugh Studios and DJs around the Louisville area.
