IRA Charitable Rollover
The IRA Charitable Rollover is Back for Good
A Great Opportunity to Make a Difference
It is once again possible to make tax-favored charitable gifts from traditional and Roth IRA accounts.
You can make gifts directly from your traditional or Roth IRAs to one or more qualified charities such as The Kentucky Center free from federal income tax each year.
- To take advantage of this gift method, you need to arrange a direct transfer from your IRA to the Kentucky Center.
- Amounts given in this way count will toward required IRA minimum withdrawal amounts. To qualify the IRA you must be age 70½ or older and the annual gift limit is $100,000. Donor-advised funds and supporting organizations are not eligible.
- The gift generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you still benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions. The transfer may be made in addition to any other charitable giving you have planned.
If you are interested in this opportunity to help support the Center and its programs, feel free to use the SAMPLE LETTER directing your IRA Administrator to make a charitable distribution directly from your IRA account to The Kentucky Center.
